Local running club Bournville Harriers expect a large number of their members to participate in this Sunday’s half marathon in Birmingham. Last year saw over 70 of them run the race with many achieving personal bests. 

Kraft in alcohol licence request

Kraft Food UK, the owners of Cadbury, have applied for an alcohol and entertainment licence for Cadbury World on Linden road. The request has caused some concern amongst our readers with one asking: “are they planning to turn Cadbury world into some tacky venue?”

Bournville School abandons Academy plans

Campaigners are claiming success after Bournville School & Sixth Form Centre said they will not be proceeding with its plans to convert to an Academy. In a letter to parents the School said that it wasn’t ready for “such a significant change.”

New phone mast plan causes concern

A local resident has written to us to express concerns for a new plan to locate a mobile phone mast near a conservation area in Bournville. The mast would be at the corner of Hawthorne road and Heath road.
