Bournville Young Singers in Edinburgh

Bournville Young Singers are playing two shows on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe today (Tuesday 23rd) and tomorrow, following their successful appearance last year. They play at St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church at 4.30pm.

Bournville College re-build video

Bournville College have published a new timelapse video of their new college being built on the former Longbridge works site. The video covers the first half of 2010. The college will move from its current Northfield site in 2011.

Linden road Mary Vale road – most dangerous

Bournvillevillage.com has received information from West Midlands Police about the volume of accidents on Linden Road and Watford Road in Bournville. The data was made available after a Freedom of Information request. It reveals the junction to be the most dangerous on this stretch.

The winning candidate for Selly Oak constituency in May’s General Election spent twice as much as his nearest rival to secure victory. Details of election expenses also reveal that Labour’s Steve McCabe spent £13813 on unsolicited leaflets and £165 on balloons.

Bournville Choir at School Fete

Bournville-Vocal-Ease Ladies Choir will be helping to celebrate the start of summer later today with a performance at Wychall Primary School fete in Northfield from 4pm. Visitors can look forward to performances from four local choirs, a barbeque, face painting, a bouncy castle, and a whole host of traditional stalls.

Maria Sharapova comes to Cotteridge

Our neighbours in Cotteridge had a visit from one of the world’s greatest tennis players at the weekend when Maria Sharapova dropped in to show support for the park’s new tennis coaching sessions and to promote the Aegon Classic tournament at the Priory Club in Edgbaston next week.
