The boss of Cadbury World, Gerrard Baldwin, has said that even though Kraft weren’t aware of the attraction when they bought Cadbury he’s excited by their future plans for the factory and for the Bournville visitor attraction.
Bournville is the starting point for two upcoming bike rides around South Birmingham on the 5th and 15th of September (women only on this date). Beginning from Rowheath Pavilion carpark the 6.3 mile route takes in much of the paths and parks of Bournville and the Rea Valley cycle route before returning to the pavilion.
Bournville’s major visitor attraction, Cadbury World, is celebrating twenty years since its opening in August 1990. To celebrate, families who visit Cadbury World on 4th September will be treated to face painters, children’s entertainers and another chance to taste Cadbury World’s infamous chocolate chilli drink.
UPDATE: PICTURE CHANGED. Bournville’s a beautiful place. It has not one but two conservation areas with listed buildings and a historic chocolate factory. Pam Dexter, head of Bournville Infant School has given an exclusive interview to bournvillevillage.com to tell us about her upcoming book on the history of the school. Mrs Dexter, who retires this year, describes the school as a “special building and a special place” which has always had the children’s interests at heart.
Bournville attraction Cadbury World, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has chosen a Birmingham PR agency to help it to promote a range of fun activities. Rewired PR, based in the Jewellery Quarter, already work with Cadbury UK to promote its community programme and employee volunteering activity.
