Maypole Queen to be chosen

Still fancy your chances of being Bournville’s Festival Queen? Well you’d better hurry as you only have until 7.30pm tonight when a “star-studded panel of expert judges” will choose the Queen for 2010.

Maypole girls still wanted

The organisers of the annual Bournville Festival are worried that this year’s event will suffer if not enough girls come forward to volunteer to be maypole dancers. Although registration has already taken place there is still chance to join in as a petal girl, outside strings, gypsies, flower girls, crown bearer or herald.

Bournville Maypole – your chance to get involved

Bournville Village Council have written to us to give advanced news of this year’s Village Festival which takes place on Sunday 26th June from 2pm. We’ll have more on that in a future posting but in the meantime there’s a need for children to volunteer to be part of the Maypole which is the centrepiece [...]

Putting on the Bournville Village Festival

Bournville Village Festival comes round every year to local revellers delight. Old ball games, the helterskelter, the crowning of the Bournville Village queen and the maypole. It is a much-loved festival which celebrates unique traditions in our little village.
