Bournville Councillors Tim Huxtable and Nigel Dawkins have been speaking to bournvillevillage.com about the planned closure of Kraft’s Cheltenham offices and the prospect of staff being moved to its Bournville offices along with the plans to make Bournville a centre for Kraft’s research and development operations in the UK.
As the 2010 general election campaign gets into gear it’s emerging that Kraft’s takeover of Cadbury will play a key part in shaping the policies of the parties vying for the votes of Bournville residents come May 6th.
Senior management from Kraft have agreed to meet with a newly established community group from Bournville set up to ensure the takeover of Cadbury by Kraft is a positive development for the Bournville community.
The subject of Kraft’s takeover of Cadbury is set to become centre stage once again when the Business Innovation and Skills Parliamentary Committee holds an evidence session on Tuesday 16 March at which senior Kraft personnel are expected to appear.
At 4.50pm today Kraft announced to the Stock Exchange that their offer to buyout Cadbury had been accepted by 71.7% of the shareholders. At the same time bournvillevillage.com made its way to Bournville Green to get some reaction from local businesses.
