One of Bournville’s most-loved annual events will take place on Christmas Eve with the return of the Christmas Carols on the Green. The gathering has taken place since 1949 and this year starts at 6pm with Christmas carols and readings with the sound of Bournville Carillon for accompaniment.
Tradition has it that you bring along a lantern. The event is organised by Churches Together B30 representing a range of churches around our area.
Don’t forget to wrap up warm, this year the weather forecast suggests it may well be a very cold night. Local resident Rob Macpherson described it thus in The Guardian: “Christmas carols on Bournville Green, accompanied by Carillon school, are atmospheric and great for kids – a bit like living in a Richard Curtis rom-com.”
