Birmingham City Council’s planning committee will meet this week to agree the redevelopment of the former Selly Oak Hospital site off Raddlebarn road. 650 new dwellings will be built providing homes for up to 1,650 people but a number of locally listed buildings will be demolished as part of the plan.
Local councillors have come out against the planned development of residential accommodation on part of the Cadbury factory site, describing it as a “slippery slope” which could lead to further parts of the factory being developed into flats and houses.
THE developer Taylor Wimpey has submitted plans to build 33 properties on the former Pocklington Place site off Hole Lane in Bournville. The site has been derelict since January 2008 and the proposals are due to go before City planners after public consultation.
BOURNVILLE Ward Councillors are claiming that the deal to bring Tesco to Stirchley is nearly complete. In their latest newsletter they claim Tesco have signed the contract to purchase the land occupied by the Stirchley Community Centre and the Indoor Bowls Club.
