Wide eye on Bournville

New investment for local parks

COUNCILLORS for Bournville are reporting that they have secured investment for local parks around the area to the tune of £250,000. The improvements to Bournville Park will see its tennis courts refurbished along with three new picnic tables, new benches and new litter bins.

Woodlands Park get a new children’s play equipment and refurbished paths and both parks will each have one of its pedestrian bridges replaced over the stream.

Councillor Dawkins said, “we are very fortunate to have been able to access this funding but we are also very pleased with our decision to spend it exclusively on upgrading our Bournville parks.”

The monies for the refurbishment come from ‘a variety of sources’.

Improvements to the parks was one of the items discussed at last month’s Ward meeting. We’re still awaiting the publishing of those minutes.
