Bournville Village Trust have announced the successful winners to their ‘Vision 12′ funding competition. £16,000 has now been allocated to projects within Bournville Village Trust managed areas.

The four winners of community projects are all from within the wider Bournville area. The winners are Selly Oak Live at Home Scheme, Gentle Cycling, Weoley Hill Bowling Club and Northfield Checkmates.
The Selly Oak Live at Home Scheme is a group of local volunteers who will be setting up a project to offer friendship and support to older people living in Bournville, Selly Oak and Weoley. The scheme will offer befriending, telephone calls, social groups and a transport service.
Gentle Cycling will use its funding to create a programme of gentle bike rides in and around Bournville. They will be suitable for all ages and abilities which will enhance community spirit and promote better health and lifestyle.
Weoley Hill Bowling Club will use its funding to provide a junior section for the club with one on one tuition and specialist equipment. The junior section will help enhance existing links with local schools and children’s groups.
Northfield Checkmates, a local chess club, will use its funding to provide transport for members and help pay the rent for the facility.
