BOURNVILLE Station’s Bill Burnhope and Mick North have both been nominated for a prestigious Rail Staff award after being put forward by local residents. They are up for an award in the Outstanding Customer Service category.
Denise Platts made the nominations. About Bill she said:
“I would like to nominate Bill who works at Bournville station in Birmingham for an Ambassador Award. He always has a smile and is always helpful but today he surpassed even his own outstanding standards when he took almost twenty minutes to help us plan our daughter’s journeys to university open days next week AND saved us money in the process.
“I really cannot think of any other employee in any other business I frequent, who is as helpful and reliable as Bill. I do hope that you will pass on my thanks to him and that you will consider him for one of your awards.
Bill exceeded the customers expectations, showing that this was not just a one off and he is always reliable and helpful!”
About Mick Denise said:
“Mick was at Bournville when the area around flooded during the storm on the 28th June 2012, he kept everyone informed, passengers, colleagues and management alike. [He] Sent pictures and used blackberry messenger to assist other stations with passengers travelling to Bournville. Mick continually brushed back the water to stop it reaching the ticket office area and helped in the clean up!
Mick was outstanding on the day and worked extremely hard to ensure as little disruption as possible for all!”
Voting takes places online until 7th September.
